Starting on Palm Sunday (April 9, 2017), Mount Calvary will be going live on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/mtcalvaryMKE/) and on this web site (http://mtcalvary-mke.org/custpage.cfm/frm/152029/sec_id/152029). As part of this new presence on the Web, I will be posting some things here to think about and discuss before Sunday. Please comment below or respond to the questions on Facebook.
Title for the Palm Sunday Sermon: Attitude and Altitude
Text: Philippians 2:5-11
Some Background: These verses are part of a longer section that some commentators call “The Christ Hymn.” The passage has an almost poetic character as it talks about Christ’s humiliation and exaltation.
What I see Paul calling us to is to have the same attitude as Jesus has – an attitude that loves mercy, seeks justice, and walks humbly with our God. (See Micah 6:8)
Question #1: What does a good attitude look like?
Question #2: What does a bad attitude look like?
Question #3: What do you do when you want to improve your attitude; what steps do you take; what do you change to change your attitude?
I look forward to interacting with you.
If you post after hearing or watching this sermon, please tell me what was most helpful for you.

Thanks for the comment. It's REALLY helpful to know what is coming through. I like what you said about a "bad attitude taking over." That's a good way to picture it. I also appreciate that you are saying that there are alternatives to a "bad attitude."
My big take aways from today's sermon: "Jesus was surrounded by bad attitudes" and "Jesus died for bad attitudes." These statements from your sermon put things in perspective. When a bad attitude tries to take over my life, I will look outside myself and fill my mind with what Jesus did and why He did it. Attitude is everything. I choose a good attitude.
