"Remaining" in Jesus
By Pastor Eggebrecht @ 9:51 AM :: 285 Views :: Pastors Message

Consider these important words of Jesus: "If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." Jesus speaks these words right after He has said to His disciples: "I am the vine; you are the branches."

So how do we "remain" in Jesus? We do so by actively "remaining" in the community that celebrates and serves Him as Lord of all life and Lord of all creation. There is no such thing as a "Jesus and Me" Christian. To be a Christian means to be a part of Christ's community!

On the other hand, we must also remain people of prayer and devotion in our own, private lives. We are to remain "in touch" with Jesus on a daily basis: when we wake up remembering our baptism, and when we fall asleep uttering our most intimate prayers to our God.

"Remain" in Jesus today. And "remain" in Him on Sunday, together with the community of your Christian brothers and sisters at Mt. Calvary. He will give you all that you need...beginning with the forgiveness of your sins.

Pray for Mt. Calvary, that all members would "remain" in Jesus every day in our private Christian lives, and every Sunday in our public Christian lives! Bring others to worship at Mt. Calvary, where they will find themselves grafted into the true Vine, Jesus Christ! Tell others about the "vineyard" where the Lord Himself welcomes all to come and bear fruit!
