Wednesdays in Lent

Jonah…for Lent? Sounds fishy, but it’s a natural fit. When the Jews asked Jesus for a sign, He said, “I will give you only the sign of Jonah.”  After three days in the belly of the earth, Jesus rose with news of God’s prodigal grace.  This series of Wednesday services for Lent (starting Ash Wednesday, February 17th) explores the meaning of “The Sign of Jonah” as we follow Jonah on his journey…and Jesus on His way to the cross.
Services each Wednesday in Lent at 10:30 a.m. (followed by a light lunch) and 6:30 p.m.
February 17…..Ash Wednesday: “God is calling” (Jonah 1:1-3)
February 24…..Lent Midweek 2: “Saved in the Storm” (Jonah 1:4-16)
March 10……..Lent Midweek 4: “Praying in the Belly of the Great Big Fish” (Jonah 2:1-10 )
March 17……..Lent Midweek 5: “The God of the Second Chance” (Jonah 3:1-4)
March 24……..Lent Midweek 6: “About Face” (Jonah 3:5-10)
April 1………..Maundy Thursday: “On the Same Page” (Jonah 4:1-2; 10:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.)
April 2………..Good Friday: “The Answer!” (Jonah 4:3-11; 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.)
                        Children’s Service, 10:00 a.m.
April 3………..Easter Vigil (Liturgical Center of the Church Year; 7:17 p.m.)
