REPORT CARDS HOME TODAY
2nd Quarter report cards were sent home with students in 5K through 8th Grade. Please ask your child for his/her report card. The verification slip stating that you have received your child’s report card must be signed and returned no later than Monday, Jan. 25th.
WHO CAN YOU TELL?
Most new families come to Mt. Calvary because someone told them about our school! God continues to do great things at Mt. Calvary, and we can’t keep that news to ourselves. Attached to this week’s newsletter is a TELL TWO form. In order to help get the good word out about Mt. Calvary and invite as many people as possible to this year’s Open House on Feb. 4th, please identify 2 families you think would be interested in learning more about our school. Families who are referred will receive a special invitation to Open House as well as a personal phone call inviting them to attend.
RE-ENROLLMENT FOR 2010-2011
Enrollment for the 10-11 school year begins on February 1st and ends on Feb. 20. It is very important for all our current families to enroll and secure a seat for next school year. New procedures are in place for the enrollment process this year. Families will be required to meet individually (approximately 10 minutes) with Ms. Neuwirth in order to complete the application process. This will help ensure all required documents are submitted and the application meets the requirements of the state auditor.
In order for your application to be complete, you will need to provide the following AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION:
1. Proof of income (Federal form 1040)
2. Verification of any additional income (food share, housing assistance, child support, social security, etc)
3. Current utility bill if your current address differs from your tax form
4. Birth certificates for 4K, 5K, and 1st grade students
4K/5K SING IN CHURCH ON JAN. 31st
Students in 4K & 5K will sing in church at Mt. Calvary on Jan. 31st in the 9am worship service. The children have begun working on the songs they will share in worship. Please mark your calendars and plan to worship with us on that day.
MASS CHOIR WANTED!
Do you or someone in your family like to sing? Ms. Miller, the music teacher, is looking for adult singers (16 yrs.+) to participate in the Black History Program. The mass choir will be singing one song. Rehearsals will be 6:30pm-8:30pm in the Mt. Calvary music room on the following Tuesdays: 1/12, 1/26, 2/9, 2/16, and 2/23. Hope to see you there!
TIME IS RUNNING OUT FOR MR. Z’S FUNDRAISER
Just one weekend remains to participate in the Mr. Z’s fundraiser! Students, parents, and relatives have the opportunity to help Mt. Calvary raise money for sports uniforms, field trips, computer programs, and more by selling Mr. Z’s products. The school goal is for total sales to exceed $6000! Order forms and money must be returned to school this MONDAY, Jan. 25th.
Reaching our $6000 goal will result in having Fun Day at Mt. Calvary. In addition, classes with at least 50% participation will earn a pizza party! Finally, top sellers in each class will receive a limo lunch and a week long non-uniform pass! Everyone’s help is needed for a successful sale!
COLD WEATHER & SCHOOL CLOSING INFO!
Please be sure your children are prepared for the cold weather with hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, and boots. These items are needed to keep students warm walking to and from school as well as playing outside at recess.
With the possibilities of winter snow, please tune in to Channels 4, 6, and 12 for up-to-date school closing information. In most circumstances, when MPS Schools are closed, Mt. Calvary will be closed as well; however, this is not always the case. Please watch for school closing information on your favorite television station.
