Baptism is a miracle! Using Water, Word, and Spirit, God forgives sins, creates faith, and gives the gift of eternal life. It all starts on the day of baptism, at the very moment water hits the head and God's Word bounces off of eardrums.

But it doesn't magically keep us in the faith! That's why it makes me sad when parents bring their child to the waters of Holy Baptism, and we never...or very rarely...see them in church again. Newborn faith needs the milk of God's Word. As faith strengthens, it needs the meat of God's Word.

But with God there is always hope. Even for the child whose parents neglect to raise her or him in the faith. God's Word is always available to forgive sins, strengthen faith, and empower life. Make yourself...and your family...available to Water, Word, and Spirit soon...and often. God will work through them to give you and your family the greatest imaginable gifts.

Pray for our church, that Water, Word, and Spirit would work to bring renewal. Bring others to worship at Mt. Calvary, so that they will receive all the benefits of God's Water, Word, and Spirit. Tell others about Jesus, who is present in Water, Word, and Spirit to forgive, create, and give life.
